Update: Looks like it was announced that Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure will be receiving a live action film in Summer 2017 covering Part 4. The announcement states its going to be done in Chapters so there’s room for more sequels in the future.
It looks like the trend of live action adaptations may be continuing following the announcements of a Gintama Live Action Film in 2017 and a Bleach Film being produced by Warner Bros. Japan earlier in 2016. Similarly, it looks like Hirohiko Araki’s Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure may be in the works. Whilst there have been rumours regarding an adaptation of the work. The publisher Shueisha, were forced to respond to the speculation in the past and went as far as to say there was nothing planned for the title.
However, it seems that an announcement for the adaptation may be imminent with Warner Bros. JP registering the domain ‘jojo-movie.jp’, the domain redirects to ‘https://warnerbros.co.jp/movie/jojo/‘ and indicates an announcement could be coming soon.
The domain was registered on August 27, 2016 by Warner Bros with an associated Twitter handle being registered on September 23, 2016. Given this trend, it’s likely we’ll be hearing more about this development in the near future and possibly in the upcoming issue of Ultra Jump or at the very least before the end of the year.
